Left at 7. Still merging. You know every on-ramp, every shortcut that isn't, and exactly how long 9 miles can take (1 hour 40). This freeway sign tells the truth: exit never, speed limit sometimes. For everyone who has made peace with the brake lights, and every ex-Californian who swears they don't miss it.
